1.6 A Lesson Learned

Our target today is Darbhanga in Bihar. A mere 400 kms away. We were happy to learn from Google that driving time is 9.30 hours.

The reality was quite different. The roads were not half as good as the ones we drove on in the past few days, but the truckers drove with the same "maut ka kuan" (the well of death) attitude.

The traffic also challenged our patience. We covered the first 80 kilometers in 2 hours. In Bihar, the highways pass through the middle of many small towns and villages testing your skill and tolerance. Let alone speed, a 15 minute delay (on Google maps) turned into a nightmare lasting 150 minutes!!! Whew!!! To top it all, there was not a single place on the entire stretch where we could have a decent snack!!

3 days of pleasant driving ke baad, aaj sab hawa nikal gayi 😰 😆😆

I take today's experience as a lesson learned from a road trip.

Take the good, the bad and the ugly in your stride and life will become a smooth ride.

2.45 pm Diesel 36.06 L - 159 kms

7.10 pm Dalaan Resort near Darbhanga - 159 kms
