2.11 Our Travel Hub, Assam

On the scenic journey from Tawang to Tezpur in Assam, the winding path through the hills led us to the awe-inspiring Sela tunnel, a marvel inaugurated by our esteemed Prime Minister, Modiji, just four days prior. As we ascended, we were probably the final few adventurers traversing the legendary Sela pass, and on our return, one of the first few to go through the freshly opened tunnel.

Just as we emerged from the tunnel, the temperature dropped to 2° and a thick blanket of fog enveloped our surroundings, shrouding the road ahead in an eerie veil. With the sudden onset of fog driving became a daring adventure, with visibility dwindling to a mere ten meters or less. Every twist and turn of the road became a test of nerves, with the lane markings emerging as our lifeline amidst the opaque expanse. Like a compass guiding a lost traveler, these faint lines served as our sole beacon, keeping our vehicle steadfast on the path. It was an unforgettable experience that left us both thrilled and humbled by the raw power of nature.

Our journey took a pause in Assam in the comfort of Hotel Greenwood in Tezpur. Tomorrow we gear up to explore the beauty and allure of Meghalaya.
